Job summary

AECOM in Melbourne seeks a Technical Director level Mechanical Engineer to lead our Building Engineering team on complex, multi-sector projects. You will shape design direction, mentor engineers, grow client relationships, and drive delivery excellence while advancing our reputation as a trusted technical leader in the region.

Qualifications

Chartered Engineer with relevant professional registration or transferrable registration.
Ideally 18+ years’ experience in Building Services consultancy or design in Mechanical Contracting.
Proven track record in technical design and project delivery with strong client relationships.
In-depth knowledge of Building Services projects and Standards and ability to share expertise with clients and teams.
Experience managing multiple technical projects across market sectors.

Responsibilities

Provide strategic leadership across major multidisciplinary projects, overseeing technical delivery and ensuring commercial performance and client satisfaction.
Lead and grow client relationships across health, defence, aviation, transport, sports infrastructure and other key sectors in Melbourne.
Drive technical excellence by setting design direction and conducting high-level reviews across mechanical deliverables.
Mentor and develop engineering talent, building capability within the team and enabling career progression.
Contribute to business growth through work winning, market engagement and strengthening AECOM’s reputation as a trusted technical leader in the region.
