AEMO is Australia’s independent energy system and market operator. The Future Energy Systems division seeks a Senior Engineer to lead investigations into power system security and to develop practical solutions for higher renewables integration.

You will provide technical leadership across strategic projects and collaborate with industry stakeholders. This role supports Australia’s energy transition and can be based in any Australian capital city, offering opportunities to influence the National

Competenze

A degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems.
Experience with the National Electricity Market (NEM) is preferred.
Experience in power system analysis, modelling, planning, operations, or similar.
Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
Demonstrated experience delivering projects across multidisciplinary teams.

Mansioni

Collaborate on technical studies and investigations into power system security and stability challenges.
Perform and review advanced power system modelling and simulation studies.
Develop innovative engineering solutions for reliable integration of renewable energy technologies.
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise and influencing outcomes.
Liaise with specialist consultants and contribute to strategic technical projects.
Mentor and support developing engineers to build technical capability.
Contribute to the evolution of power system design principles for the future energy system.
