Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) is at the heart of Australia’s energy transition, leading the National Electricity Market and planning for a sustainable future. The Senior Engineer role drives security analyses, develops practical solutions, and leads technical projects across the Future Energy Systems division.

Based in Australia, the role offers collaboration with industry experts and opportunities to influence system design and operation through strategic projects and stakeholder

Competenze

• Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems, power electronics or related discipline.
• Strong understanding of NEM – National Electricity Market preferred.
• Experience in power system analysis, modelling, planning, operations or similar within electricity industry.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, able to translate technical concepts for diverse audiences.

Mansioni

• Collaborate on technical studies and investigations into power system security and stability challenges.
• Perform and review advanced power system modelling and simulation studies.
• Develop innovative engineering solutions for reliable integration of renewable energy technologies.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise and influencing outcomes.
• Liaise with specialist consultants and contribute to strategic technical projects.
• Mentor developing engineers and build technical capability within the team.
• Contribute to the evolution of power system design principles for the future energy system.
