Job summary
Australian Energy Market Operator in Melbourne seeks a Senior Engineer to lead investigations into power system security and develop practical solutions for higher renewable energy integration. You will provide technical leadership across strategic projects and influence industry outcomes.
This role can be based in any Australian capital city, with flexible options and opportunities for hybrid work while contributing to Australia’s energy transition.
Qualifications
- Degree in Electrical Engineering with a focus on power systems, power electronics or related discipline.
- Experience working with NEM – National Electricity Market preferred.
- Experience in power system analysis, modelling, planning, operations, or similar role within the electricity industry.
- Strong capability using power system simulation tools such as PSSE and PSCAD.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate on technical studies and investigations into power system security and stability challenges.
- Perform and review advanced power system modelling and simulation studies.
- Develop innovative engineering solutions for reliable integration of renewable energy technologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, providing technical expertise and influencing industry outcomes.
- Mentor and support developing engineers, building technical capability across the team.
