Octopus Australia seeks a Lead Electrical Engineer to strengthen electrical capabilities across utility-scale solar, wind and BESS projects. You will own electrical scope and lead technical decisions that influence bankability, constructability and asset performance.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated electrical engineering experience (7–10 yrs) on Australian utility-scale renewables.
• Experience with EPC/owner's engineer project delivery.
• Site exposure, contractor management and change control.
• Knowledge of HV/MV systems and grid-connected infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own, define, structure and manage electrical scope, budget and schedule across projects.
• Provide technical leadership and mentoring; develop templates and governance for HV/MV workstreams.
• Coordinate with civil, grid, SCADA, environmental, planning and asset teams; educate stakeholders.
• Contribute to contracting strategies, tender docs and post-award engineering management.
• Manage OEM/contractor performance from design through construction and handover.
• Prepare/review SLDs, cable layouts, protection philosophies and BOMs.
• Review EPC/Owner submissions, RFIs and variations for risk and cost optimization.
• Resolve electrical punch list items on operating assets post-COD.
• Coordinate design reviews, site inspections and technical workshops.
