Job summary

Octopus Australia is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to bolster electrical capabilities across a portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind and battery projects in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane. You will own the electrical scope, drive technical decisions that influence cost, constructability and asset performance, and mentor colleagues to raise engineering standards across HV/MV systems.

Qualifications

Electrical engineering experience (7-10 yrs) on Australian utility-scale renewable energy projects.
Experience with pre- and post-financial close/construction phases as owner's electrical package lead.
Site-based construction exposure and contractor management.
Familiarity with Australian approvals, standards and grid-connected delivery.
Chartered status or registration not required but highly regarded.

Responsibilities

Own scope, budget, schedule, HSE, risks and quality for electrical scope across projects.
Provide technical leadership and mentor colleagues; develop templates and governance for HV/MV systems.
Review design submissions, RFIs, variations with proactive issue resolution.
Coordinate design reviews, site inspections and technical workshops.
Manage OEM/contractor performance from design to handover.
