Job summary

Octopus Australia is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to steer electrical design across a portfolio of utility-scale solar, wind and BESS projects in Australia.

You will own scope, budget and schedules, mentor engineers, and drive standards, risk management and technical decision-making from pre‑construction through commissioning, with hybrid working options. The role offers career progression toward project leadership and collaboration with EPCs and regulators.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated electrical engineering experience on Australian utility-scale renewable energy projects.
• Experience with EPC contractors, engineering consultants, utilities, IPPs or developers.
• Experience as owner's representative for electrical packages from design to handover.

Responsibilities

• Own the electrical scope: scope, budget, schedule, HSE, risks and quality.
• Lead technical governance and reviews of submissions, RFIs and variations.
• Coordinate with civil, grid, SCADA, environmental and commercial teams.
• Prepare design documentation, drawings and technical specs for EPC contracts.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive continuous improvement in standards.
