Job summary

Octopus Australia is seeking a Lead Electrical Engineer to strengthen our electrical capabilities across utility-scale solar, wind and battery energy storage projects. The role offers the chance to shape electrical engineering standards, lead on critical technical and commercial decisions, and influence project bankability, constructability and asset performance.

Based in Melbourne, Sydney or Brisbane with hybrid working, you will mentor peers, develop templates and governance for HV/MV systems,

Qualifications

• 7–10 years of electrical engineering experience on Australian utility-scale renewables.
• Experience leading electrical scope from design through handover to operations.
• Familiarity with PowerFactory and grid-connected infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Own electrical scope budget, schedule and quality across multiple projects.
• Provide technical leadership and develop governance templates.
• Review contractor design submissions and manage punch list issues.
• Coordinate design reviews, site inspections and workshops.
• Engage with civil, grid, SCADA and asset teams on electrical workstreams.
