Job summary

The Department of Justice and Community Safety in Mildura is offering a fixed term, full-time opportunity to reduce over-representation of Aboriginal people in the criminal justice system. You will deliver meaningful case management for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients, focusing on behaviour change and completing correctional orders.

Qualifications

• Communicate sensitively with Aboriginal people and communities.
• Understand issues affecting Aboriginal people in the justice system.
• Apply evidence-based case management with complex needs.
• Turn theory into practice for risk planning and behaviour change.

Responsibilities

• Deliver meaningful case management for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal clients.
• Create tailored cultural support plans for Aboriginal clients.
• Assess risk factors and develop individualised case plans.
• Provide expert advice on culturally safe approaches to working with Aboriginal clients.
• Build partnerships with Aboriginal organisations to access resources.
• Attend Koori Court to provide advice and support when needed.
