Job summary

Certis Security Australia is seeking a Security Officer at Southern Cross University in Lismore, NSW. You will blend front-of-house concierge duties with security responsibilities to ensure a safe, welcoming environment for students, staff and visitors.

The role requires NSW Security Licence, First Aid, and the ability to manage access control, patrols, and incident response with professionalism.

Qualifications

• Valid NSW Security Licence is required.
• Current First Aid Certificate.
• Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain).
• CCTV monitoring experience is highly regarded.
• Strong communication and observation skills.
• A calm, professional approach to every situation.

Responsibilities

• Keeping campus operations smooth and secure through:
• Managing vehicle leasing, visitor passes, and access control
• Conducting proactive internal and external patrols
• Monitoring CCTV, WHS compliance, and alarm responses
• Issuing and maintaining staff, contractor, and visitor access cards
• Responding to perimeter breaches or unauthorized access attempts
• Operating intercom systems and overseeing traffic and screening areas
• Liaising with university stakeholders and reporting potential risks
• Maintaining accurate logs, reports, and security documentation

About the Role

As a Security Officer, you will combine front-of-house concierge services with security responsibilities, ensuring a seamless experience for visitors while supporting the day-to-day safety and operation of the site.

Location: Lismore, NSW

Employment Type: Full-Time

Roster: 76hrs per fortnight

Pay Rate: SSIA Level 3

Key Responsibilities
