Job summary

Sharp and Carter is seeking a Property Claims Consultant to join our North Sydney team. You’ll own a portfolio of property claims from lodgement through to settlement, including escape of liquid, storm, impact and accidental damage.

This role offers a permanent full-time position, Monday to Friday in the North Sydney office, with a salary of $90K plus super and an active development plan to support professional qualifications.

Qualifications

• Experience managing property claims end to end.
• Hands-on experience with escape of liquid claims.
• Confidence reading policy wordings and making coverage decisions.
• Clear phone manner and strong written communication with brokers.
• Strong organisation across a busy, varied claims portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of property claims end to end, from handover after lodgement through to settlement
• Assess coverage, liability and entitlements against the policy wording, and make decisions within your delegated authority
• Appoint and manage assessors, builders and other suppliers, and review their reports, scopes and quotes
• Take calls from brokers and customers, and keep everyone updated by phone, email and the online claims portal
• Explain decisions clearly, including declines, and handle difficult conversations with care
• Keep accurate claim records in line with internal procedures and the General Insurance Code of Practice

Our client is a specialist property insurer backed by a leading global insurance group. Their close-knit claims team combines experienced leadership with a supportive culture and a genuine focus on delivering great outcomes for customers. You’ll manage your own portfolio of property claims from allocation through to settlement, including escape of liquid, storm, impact and accidental damage claims.
