Job summary

Government schools – Melbourne Northern Suburbs VIC is seeking a classroom teacher to plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons aligned with the Victorian curriculum. You will monitor and assess student progress, use data to inform teaching, and communicate growth with students and parents.

You will contribute to school programs, mentor colleagues, and participate in parent/teacher meetings while supporting diverse learner needs and upholding Department values.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to teach literacy and numeracy.
• Experience in planning high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating impact.
• Experience in monitoring learning and communicating progress to students and parents.
• Strong interpersonal skills and collaboration with students, parents and staff.
• Demonstrated professional learning and alignment with Department values.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals and contribute to curriculum planning.
• Implement and evaluate teaching programs and use student data to inform practice.
• Engage in meetings, parent communications and school activities.
• Model best practices, mentor colleagues and supervise student teachers.
• Support school priorities and contribute to policy development.
