Job summary

Government schools in Melbourne's Northern Suburbs seek a Classroom Teacher in Senior Primary Years to plan, prepare and deliver engaging learning programs aligned to the curriculum and to support student growth.

You will monitor progress, use data to inform practice, engage with parents and the school community, and participate in ongoing professional learning to continually improve teaching quality and student outcomes in range 1/2 settings.

Qualifications

• SC1: Knowledge of the relevant curriculum; ability to integrate literacy and numeracy.
• SC2: Experience planning for and implementing high impact teaching strategies; evaluate impact on growth.
• SC3: Experience monitoring and assessing student learning; using data to inform teaching and give feedback.
• SC4: Strong interpersonal/communication skills; foster collaboration with students, parents, colleagues and community.
• SC5: Reflective practice and commitment to professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups and individuals.
• Contribute to development, implementation and evaluation of curriculum programs.
• Undertake other classroom teaching and organisational duties as required by the Principal.
• Participate in parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertake other non-teaching supervisory duties.
