Job summary

Victorian Government is seeking classroom teachers to join schools in the Melbourne area. The role focuses on planning, preparation and the delivery of programs to achieve specific student outcomes.

Roles include Range 1 and Range 2 classrooms, with potential additional duties beyond rostered teaching where appropriate. Personnel will work to improve student outcomes through high-quality instruction, reflective practice and engagement with families and the school community.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated knowledge of the relevant curriculum, including the ability to incorporate the teaching of literacy and numeracy skills.
• Experience in planning for and implementing high-impact teaching strategies and evaluating their impact on student learning growth.
• Experience in monitoring and assessing student learning and using data to inform teaching; provide feedback to students and parents.
• Interpersonal and communication skills with ability to collaborate with students, parents, colleagues and the school community to support learning, wellbeing and engagement.
• Behaviours and attitudes consistent with Department values; reflecting on practice and engaging in professional learning to improve teaching quality.

Responsibilities

• Direct teaching of groups of students and individual students.
• Contributing to the development, implementation and evaluation of a curriculum area or other program within the school.
• Undertaking other classroom teaching related and organisational duties as determined by the School Principal.
• Participating in activities such as parent/teacher meetings, staff meetings, camps and excursions.
• Undertaking other non-teaching supervisory duties.
