Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking Teachers for Corrective Services NSW across multiple regions. You will plan, deliver and evaluate courses to meet accredited standards and contribute to reduced re-offending and improved community safety.

Role includes LLND program delivery, learner management in OIMS, and pre-enrolment reviews, with regional centres in North, South, Metro and West. Ongoing full-time, Monday–Friday, with salary 104,299–116,921 AUD plus superannuation and leave

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognised university; incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area required by AEVTI
• Graduate Diploma (or higher) in Education, from a recognised university; and qualification in a discipline other than education; incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area required by AEVTI
• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, including TAE40110, TAE40116, TAE40122 or its successor, with related employment experience
• Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various centres within preferred region as part of the role

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain LLND classes and manage learners in the Offender Information Management System (OIMS)
• Select and invite eligible learners to participate in LLND programs
• Conduct a pre-enrolment review of proficiency to determine suitable education programs
• Enroll learners into appropriate education programs following established processes
• Conduct classes and assessments contextualised to learner needs and aligned with adult learning principles
• Develop lesson plans and teaching resources for accredited courses and training packages
• Participate in course evaluation, validation and moderation of assessments to maintain quality
• Maintain administrative duties such as recording learner participation and progress
• Provide reports on inmate learning progress and education pathways for offender case management

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education (recognised university)

Graduate Diploma or higher in Education + related discipline

Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110 / TAE40116 / TAE40122)

Current NSW driver’s licence
