Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a qualified Teacher for Corrective Services NSW across NSW. The role focuses on planning, delivering and evaluating courses aligned with accredited training packages to enhance offender education and community safety.

Responsibilities include LLND class management, learner pre-enrolment reviews, enrolments, and developing resources in accordance with adult learning principles.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent with accredited teaching qualification.
• Graduate Diploma in Education and a discipline-related degree, diploma or certificate.
• Current NSW Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122 or successor).
• Relevant employment experience as approved by the Secretary or delegate.
• Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various centres within preferred region.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain LLND classes, allocate learners using OIMS.
• Invite eligible learners to participate in LLND programs per established processes.
• Conduct pre-enrolment reviews of proficiency to determine suitable education programs.
• Enrol learners into appropriate education programs per established processes.
• Deliver contextualised lessons and assessments respecting adult learning principles.
• Develop lesson plans and teaching resources meeting course requirements.
• Participate in course evaluation including validation and moderation of assessments.
• Maintain administrative duties recording learner participation, progress and achievement.
• Provide reports on learner progress and contribute to offender education pathways.
