Job summary

NSW Department of Communities and Justice is seeking a Teacher for Corrective Services NSW to deliver and evaluate accredited education programs across NSW correctional centres. You will plan and deliver LLND-focused courses, contributing to safer communities through education and rehabilitation.

Essential qualifications include a Bachelor’s or Graduate Diploma in Education, a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and a NSW driver’s licence with willingness to travel across centres

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognised university; incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area required by AEVTI
• Graduate Diploma (or higher) in Education, from a recognised university; and qualification in a discipline other than education; incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area required by AEVTI
• Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, including TAE40110, TAE40116, TAE40122 or its successor

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain LLND classes and allocate learners in OIMS
• Invite eligible learners to participate in AEVTI LLND programs
• Conduct pre-enrolment reviews of proficiency to determine suitable education program
• Enrol learners into appropriate education programs
• Conduct classes and assessments contextualised to learners’ needs
• Develop lesson plans and teaching resources for qualified courses
• Participate in evaluation processes to ensure assessment quality
• Maintain administrative duties recording learner participation and progress
• Provide reports on inmate learning progress and employment pathways to contribute to offender case management
