Job summary

Kenmore Clinics, a busy general practice in Brisbane, is seeking a friendly, organised Medical Receptionist for a casual role (~20-25 hours per week). You will welcome patients, handle calls, schedule appointments and keep accurate records using Best Practice software.

We value patient care, teamwork and a positive experience for everyone who walks through our doors. The ideal candidate will have medical reception experience and strong organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Previous medical reception experience in a general practice is preferred.
• Experience using Best Practice or other medical software is preferred.
• Strong communication and customer service focused on patient care.
• Able to manage competing priorities in a busy environment with accuracy.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

Key responsibilities

• Welcoming patients and providing friendly, professional and compassionate service
• Managing incoming calls, patient enquiries and outgoing calls
• Scheduling appointments and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the practice
• Maintaining accurate patient records using Best Practice medical software
• Processing patient information and completing general administrative duties
• Assisting with opening and closing procedures and keeping reception running efficiently
• Working collaboratively with doctors, nurses, fellow receptionists and management

About you

• Previous medical reception experience in a general practice setting is preferred
• Experience using Best Practice (or other medical software) is preferred
• Excellent communication and customer service skills, with a genuine focus on patient care
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities in a busy environment
• A high level of accuracy, attention to detail and respect for patient confidentiality
