Job summary

Perilya Limited in Broken Hill is seeking a skilled Loader Operator for our underground team. This residential role requires a commitment to safety and the ability to operate loaders in production and development areas to meet daily targets.

You will join an experienced crew, perform pre-start checks, and maintain safety standards while contributing to efficient ore and waste movement in a world-class operation.

Qualifications

• Must have experience in underground mining, with loaders/LHDs preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work in a team.

We’re looking for a skilled and safety‑focused Loader Operator to join our underground team in Broken Hill.

This is a residential only position, based in Broken Hill.

What You’ll Be Doing:

You will play a key role in the safe and efficient movement of ore and waste within the mine. You’ll work as part of a highly experienced crew, operating loaders in production and development areas to meet daily targets.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate underground loaders (LHDs) safely and efficiently
• Load and haul ore and waste to designated locations
• Conduct pre‑start checks and basic maintenance
• Work closely with shift supervisors and underground crews
• Maintain high safety standards and follow all site procedures
• Assist with general underground duties as required

What You Will Bring:

We’re looking for someone who brings a strong work ethic, a commitment to safety, and a positive attitude.

You’ll ideally have:

• Previous underground mining experience (preferred)
• Experience operating loaders/LHDs in an underground environment
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team
• A commitment to safe work practices
