Qualifications

• Substantial recent experience conducting and/or leading complex criminal investigations.
• Experience preparing criminal briefs of evidence for prosecution.
• Practical experience with investigative powers and evidence management.
• Experience leading investigators and providing technical direction.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex criminal investigations, including strategy, lines of inquiry and evidence gathering.
• Undertake significant investigative work and prepare matters for potential prosecution.
• Lead and develop a small team of investigators with clear expectations and coaching.
• Quality assure investigative work and briefs before submission to governance.
• Manage progression, risks and resources of investigations and advise on direction.
• Collaborate with CDPP, AFP and other agencies to strengthen capabilities.
• Provide practical advice on investigative strategy to the Director.
