The Fair Work Ombudsman is seeking an experienced Assistant Director – Criminal Investigations to lead a small team within the Criminal Investigations Branch. You will provide operational and technical leadership on complex investigations and oversee briefs of evidence for potential referral to the Commonwealth Director of Public Prosecutions.

You will also help develop the capability of investigators and strengthen investigation practice across the Branch, working with external partners such as

• Substantial recent experience conducting/leading complex criminal investigations.
• Experience preparing criminal briefs of evidence for prosecutors.
• Practical knowledge of investigation methods and powers.
• Experience leading investigators and QA of work.

Responsabilidades

• Lead complex criminal investigations and develop strategy.
• Oversee evidence gathering and prepare matters for prosecution.
• Coach and develop a team of investigators.
• Quality assure investigation products and briefs.
• Manage progression, priorities and risk of investigations.
• Escalate legal, evidentiary or resourcing issues to the Director.
• Advise on investigative strategy and risks.
• Collaborate with CDPP, AFP and other agencies.
