Job summary

Southern Cross Care (NSW & ACT) is seeking a Home Care Rostering Coordinator to schedule and coordinate care staff for clients, balancing client needs with workforce availability. This full-time hybrid role is based at the Merrylands Home Care Office, supporting the Southern and Western NSW regions.

Qualifications

• Experience in rostering, scheduling, or coordination roles, preferably in healthcare or home care.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficiency in scheduling software; experience with Alayacare preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and maintain schedules for home care services, considering client preferences, staff availability and care requirements.
• Liaise with clients and families to understand needs and any scheduling changes.
• Assign staff to clients based on skill, availability and compatibility to ensure continuity of care.
• Allocate resources to minimize travel time and maximize staff utilization while following policies and regulatory requirements.
• Facilitate clear communication between clients, staff and internal teams about scheduling and updates.
• Identify and resolve scheduling conflicts and logistics issues to maintain service continuity.
• Maintain accurate records of client schedules and rosters in compliance with standards.
• Contribute to rostering process improvements to boost efficiency and client satisfaction.
• Collaborate with care coordinators, administrators and management for seamless coordination of services.
• Ensure compliance with legislation, EBAs and industry standards including privacy.
