Job summary

Australian Unity Limited is seeking carers to support older Australians to live independently at home. You will assist with domestic tasks, provide personal and social support, and offer companionship in clients’ homes across the Tweed Heads area.

Open to entry-level and experienced carers, with a paid 2-week induction, permanent part-time or casual contracts, and a competitive hourly rate including 12% super and travel time reimbursement.

Qualifications

• Own car and valid Australian driver’s licence
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours a day between 7am–5pm, Mon–Fri
• Open to entry-level and experienced carers
• Willing to complete paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training on start

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate in-home care and support to clients
• Assist with domestic tasks, housekeeping, laundry and meal prep
• Deliver personal care (as appropriate) and social support
• Offer companionship and brighten clients' days
• Follow care plans and maintain client dignity and safety

Join a supportive team helping older Australians (65+) live independently at home and make a real difference every day.

About You:

• Live across the Tweed Heads area including Banora Point, Bilambil, Bogangar, Casuarina, Chinderah, Cobaki, Cudgen, Fingal Head, Kingscliff, Piggabeen, Terranora, Murwillumbah and surrounding communities.
• Hold a current Australian Drivers' Licence with your own car (no international license's or shared vehicles)
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours a day between 7am to 5pm, Monday to Friday (some weekend rosters available for experienced carers)
• Commitment to our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training when you start!
• Open to entry-level and experienced carers

What We Offer:

• $34.80 - $36.59 per hour + 12% super + $0.92/km allowance + paid travel time
• Permanent Part-time contracts: 30-40 hours per fortnight + flex up shifts
• Casual contracts for someone starting their career in Care

Your Role

As a valued team member, you'll provide compassionate care and support to clients in their homes. Domestic assistance will form a significant part of your role - this applies to both our entry-level and experienced carers. From helping with household tasks to offering personal support, you'll make a real difference in people's lives every day.

• Entry-level: Cleaning, laundry, meal prep and household support
• Experienced: Personal care (showering, toileting, medications), social support and domestic duties
