Job summary

Australian Unity Limited is seeking friendly carers to support older Australians in their homes across Cooma and surrounding areas. You’ll perform domestic tasks and provide companionship, with entry-level roles covering cleaning, laundry and meal prep, and experienced roles including personal care and social support.

Hours are flexible, with a minimum of 6 hours per day between 8am and 6pm, across 3–4 weekdays, and some weekend rosters may be available for experienced carers.

Qualifications

• Must hold Australian Driver's Licence and own comprehensively insured car.
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day within 8am–6pm, ideally across 3–4 weekdays.
• Complete 2-week paid training program.
• Passionate about in-home aged care.

Responsibilities

• Provide compassionate care and support to clients in their homes.
• Domestic assistance including cleaning, laundry, meal prep and household tasks (entry-level).
• Personal care and social support for experienced carers.
• Offer companionship and brighten clients' day.

About You

• Live and can support our customers in Cooma, Bunyan, Dairymans Plains, Pine Valley, Polo Flat, Binjura and surrounding areas
• Hold an Australian Driver's Licence and own comprehensively insured car (no international licence/shared vehicles)
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day within the hours of 8am - 6pm, ideally across 3-4 weekdays (some weekend rosters may be available for experienced Carers)
• Able to complete our 2-week paid training program
• Passionate about working in in-home care, with a focus on aged care

• Paid travel time + $0.92 p/km allowance + company phone

• New Entrants: Casual contract
• Experienced Carers (12+ months experience and/or relevant qualification): 30 - 40 hours per fortnight + flex up shifts

Your Role

As a valued team member, you'll provide compassionate care and support to clients in their homes. Domestic assistance will form a significant part of your role - this applies to both our entry-level and experienced carers. From helping with household tasks to offering personal support, you'll make a real difference in people's lives every day.

• Entry-level: Cleaning, laundry, meal prep and household support
