Job summary

Australian Unity in Queensland is seeking friendly in-home carers to support older Australians (65+) to live independently at home. You'll provide high-quality, person-centred care during shifts 8am–6pm across multiple suburbs.

You'll assist with personal care, domestic tasks, and social support, while ensuring dignity and independence. A driver’s licence and car, plus paid induction and ongoing training, are provided.

Qualifications

• Live in Queensland and able to work in Lytton, Wynum, Capalaba, Sheldon, Redlands Bay, Russell Island and surrounding areas.
• Hold an Australian Driver’s Licence and own comprehensively insured car.
• Minimum 12 months of experience delivering personal care in aged care, disability, or hospital environments and/or completed a qualification in Aged Care, Disability or Home and Community Care.
• Available to work a minimum of 6 hours per day within the hours of 8am – 6pm, ideally across 3–4 weekdays (some weekend rosters available)
• Commitment to our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics Training when you start
• Passionate about working in in-home care, with a focus on aged care

Responsibilities

• Domestic support: cleaning, laundry and meal preparation
• Social support and companionship
• Promoting independence, dignity and wellbeing
• Domestic assistance will remain an important component of your role alongside your personal care responsibilities

About You

What We Offer

• $36.42 - $36.59 p/h + super
• Paid travel time + $1.33/km allowance + company phone
• Permanent part-time contracts: 30 – 50 hours per fortnight
• Stable hours with the opportunity to pick up additional shifts
