Job summary

Australian Unity is hiring Personal Care Workers to support older Australians to live independently at home in the Caboolture area. You will build meaningful relationships with clients and provide compassionate, person-centered care.

We offer a permanent part-time contract with competitive hourly rates, paid travel time between visits, a travel allowance, company phone, uniform, flexible rosters, and ongoing training through our Brilliant @ Basics program.

Qualifications

• 12+ months experience providing personal care in aged care, disability or hospital settings.
• Current Australian Driver's Licence.
• Own comprehensively insured car (not sharing or international licences).
• Availability to support Caboolture, Bribie Island and surrounds.
• Willingness to complete paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics training.

Responsibilities

• Personal care including showering, grooming, dressing and toileting.
• Mobility and transfer assistance.
• Medication support (where applicable).
• Meal preparation and light household tasks.
• Domestic assistance including cleaning and laundry.
• Social support, companionship and community engagement.
• Support customers to maintain independence and achieve their goals.

About the Role

As a Personal Care Worker, you'll support older Australians to continue living independently at home while maintaining their dignity, wellbeing and quality of life.

You’ll build genuine connections with your customers and become an important part of their support network.

About You

We're looking for caring, reliable and customer-focused individuals who enjoy supporting others.

To be successful, you'll have:

A passion for supporting older Australians, with strong communication and relationship-building skills

• A minimum of 12 months' experience providing personal care in aged care, disability or hospital settings and/or a qualification in Aged Care, Disability or Home & Community Care
• A current Australian Driver's Licence
• Your own comprehensively insured car (shared vehicles and international licences are not accepted)
• Availability to support customers across Caboolture, Bribie Island and surrounding areas
• Commitment to completing our paid 2-week Brilliant @ Basics training program
