Job summary

OPT HIRE is seeking a Hire Controller Administrator to join our Thomastown branch. The role supports customer service needs across hires, deliveries and pickups, transfers, repairs and breakdowns.

You’ll respond to queries, help customers choose hire solutions, coordinate stock availability and delivery/collection, and maintain accurate hire records while aiding the Branch Manager with admin tasks. A collaborative, detail‑oriented team player will thrive.

Qualifications

• They must have experience in a hire branch is highly desirable but not essential.
• Demonstrates high attention to detail and accuracy in records.
• Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written.
• Strong time management and ability to handle multiple deadlines.
• Organised, proactive, and a collaborative team member.

Responsibilities

• Respond to customer queries in person, by phone and email.
• Assist customers in selecting hire solutions for equipment and site needs.
• Organise scheduling and availability of stocks for hire and delivery/collection.
• Maintain accurate records of hire transactions, agreements and customer data.
• Coordinate cost-effective transport movements including delivery/pick up and breakdowns.
• Approve end of month invoices.
• Support the Branch Manager with ad hoc administration duties.

We are excited to offer a fantastic job opportunity for a Hire Controller Administrator to join our high performing team based in our Thomastown branch.

The Hire Controller is responsible for supporting the branch as the first point of contact for Customer Service needs such as creating hires, off hiring, equipment deliveries and pickups, transfers, repairs and breakdowns.

• Responding to customer queries in person, by phone and email
• Providing assistance to customers in selecting appropriate hire solutions for equipment, ongoing site accommodations and tools based on requirements
• Organising the scheduling and availability of stocks for hire and delivery/collection of equipment
• Maintaining accurate records of hire transactions, hire agreements and customer information
• Ensuring cost effective and efficient transport movements such as delivery, pick up, repairs, changeovers and breakdowns
• End of month invoice approvals
• Assisting the Branch Manager with ad hoc administration duties as required
