Job summary

Qualifications

• Experience managing an Australian general practice or substantial senior medical administration experience.
• Strong knowledge of general practice operations, Medicare billing, private billing and reconciliations.
• Experience managing staff, rosters, training and performance.
• Experience with accreditation, policies, quality improvement and confidential patient information.
• Strong practice management software and digital systems capability (Medical Director, Pracsoft and Hotdoc).
• Strong communication, judgement, organisation and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage appointments, reception, patient enquiries, correspondence and daily clinic workflows.
• Oversee patient feedback, complaints, recalls, reminders, referrals and administrative follow-up.
• Ensure urgent patient matters are appropriately escalated to clinical staff.
• Provide hands‑on operational support when required.
• Manage administrative rosters, leave, induction, training and performance.
• Maintain personnel, training and practitioner credential records.
• Promote teamwork, accountability and effective communication.
• Oversee Medicare and private billing, rejected claims, payments, debtors and daily reconciliations.
• Support workplace safety, emergency preparedness and equipment maintenance.
• Maintain privacy, confidentiality, information security and appropriate system access.
