The Centre for Higher Education Studies (CHES) in Melbourne, VIC, is seeking a proactive IT/AV support technician to join a small IT team. You will handle day-to-day IT and AV maintenance, install equipment, and provide friendly helpdesk support to staff and students across CHES facilities.

Reporting to the IT Manager and working with two colleagues, you will develop clear procedures, train staff, and manage tasks independently while aligning with Department policies and school priorities.

Qualifications

• First-line IT and AV support experience, ideally in education or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of end-user devices, Microsoft 365, networking and IP-based AV systems.
• Ability to work independently, manage priorities and escalate issues as needed.
• Excellent verbal and written communication with staff of varying technical levels.
• Ability to develop and maintain clear procedures and documentation.

Responsabilités

• Provide first-line IT and AV support to staff and students with minimal disruption.
• Maintain school systems including Microsoft 365, Entra, Cisco networks, Compass and Zoom.
• Carry out basic repairs on IT/AV equipment and liaise with external providers when needed.
• Support remote users via an online helpdesk.
• Install, configure and maintain AV devices and services across CHES.
• Develop and improve procedures for AV usage and support.
