Job summary

CHES in Victoria is seeking an IT/AV Technician to provide day-to-day support, maintenance and installation of the school's IT and audio-visual systems. Reporting to the IT Manager and working with two IT Team members, you will handle routine tasks and assist with more complex issues.

The ideal candidate has AV and IT qualifications or experience, strong organisational skills and a service-focused approach. Training will be provided, and the role offers a stable, school-based environment.

Qualifications

• SC1 Demonstrated experience providing first-line IT and AV support in a school, education or similar environment, including troubleshooting hardware, software and network issues.
• SC2 Demonstrated technical knowledge of end-user devices, Microsoft 365, networking and IP-based AV systems, including the ability to install, configure and maintain equipment.
• SC3 Demonstrated ability to work independently, manage competing priorities and escalte issues appropriately.
• SC4 Demonstrated high-level oral and written communication skills, including the ability to train and advise staff with varying levels of technical knowledge.
• SC5 Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain clear procedures and documentation.
• SC6 Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and solve problems in non-standard environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide IT and AV support, maintenance and installation for the school’s systems.
• Install, configure and maintain IT and AV devices, including IP-based systems.
• Train and advise staff on IT/AV hardware and software.
• Follow policies, maintain documentation and establish clear procedures.
• Work with the IT Manager and team to support school programs and services.
• Handle routine tasks independently and manage priorities as required.
