Job summary

JB Hi-Fi Group Education division seeks a Specialist Technician to deliver onsite desktop support in Victorian schools, handling Level 1–2 helpdesk tasks and basic server administration. This mid-advanced role supports students and staff with hardware, software, and AV equipment, including deployment of system images in live environments.

You will travel between sites with a valid driver’s licence, contributing to technical documentation and installations, while expanding IT skills in a dynamic

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in IT Systems Administration or equivalent certifications.
• Strong foundation in networking concepts (VLAN, DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP).
• Experience with virtualization technologies, preferably Hyper-V; exposure to VMware.

Responsibilities

• Provide Service Desk Level 1 and Level 2 support as required.
• Assist school staff and students with day-to-day technical needs.
• Maintain and support classroom technology including projectors, televisions, printers, speakers and other AV equipment.
• Assist Specialist Technician in completing tasks through to resolution.
• Provide local support for Notebook for Teachers and Principals Program.
• Deployment of system images including packaging, building, testing and updating in live environments.
• Contribute to the technical documents of the school.
• Participate in on-site installation of hardware and software.
• Provide basic server administration skills (password resets, printer queues, backups, network services).
