Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer to own the end-to-end lifecycle of Route 53 DNS infrastructure within a national security-focused programme in Australia. You will design, build, and operate DNS solutions across multi-region deployments, including latency-based routing, Private DNS, and Geo DNS, ensuring zero-downtime failover and robust security controls.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in CS/Engineering.
• Experience automating and supporting large-scale infrastructure.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP networks.
• Scripting experience (Python, Bash, or PowerShell).
• Experience with Linux and network troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Own the full engineering lifecycle of Route 53 DNS infrastructure within the programme.
• Design and implement DNS solutions: latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, failover.
• Write production-grade code and build automation frameworks.
• Develop monitoring to surface anomalies and create tooling to boost team productivity.
• Collaborate across teams for seamless integration and participate in architectural reviews.
• Lead incident response, runbooks, root-cause analyses, and mentor teammates.
