Job summary

Amazon is looking for a Systems Engineer to own the Route 53 DNS infrastructure within a major sovereign cloud programme in Australia. You will design, build, and operate DNS services across Melbourne or Sydney, with interstate relocation support and security clearance requirements.

You will develop automation, monitor systems, and integrate Route 53 with the AWS ecosystem, ensuring reliability and scale across regions for government-grade workloads.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with automation or scripting languages like Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell, or equivalent.
• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host.
• Operations experience working with CI/CD Pipelines and deployment systems like Terraform, Github Actions, Jenkins, or others.

Responsibilities

• Own the full engineering lifecycle of Route 53 DNS infrastructure within this programme.
• Design and implement DNS solutions: latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, failover architectures.
