Job summary

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Systems Engineer for Route 53 DNS infrastructure within our Region Services team in Australia. You will own the full engineering lifecycle, from architecture through operational excellence, to deliver sovereign cloud capabilities.

Based in Melbourne or Sydney, with interstate relocation support, you will design latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, and failover mechanisms across large-scale global environments, working with cross-functional teams to

Qualifications

• Knowledge of HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP protocols.
• Experience with automation and scripting (Python, Bash, etc.).
• Linux OS and network troubleshooting experience.
• Troubleshooting from application to network to host.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools (Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins).

Responsibilities

• Own the full engineering lifecycle of Route 53 DNS infrastructure within the programme.
• Design and implement DNS solutions leveraging latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, and failover.
• Write production-quality automation code and develop monitoring systems.
• Integrate Route 53 with the broader AWS ecosystem and collaborate across teams.
• Lead incident response, runbooks, root-cause analyses, and mentor teammates.
