Job summary

Amazon Support Services Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a Systems Engineer to own the Route 53 DNS infrastructure lifecycle, shaping architecture, and operating at scale. You will design latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, and failover, while writing production-quality automation and monitoring tools.

You will collaborate across teams to ensure interoperability and reliability across the sovereign cloud program.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS, and TCP/IP.
• Experience with automation or scripting languages like Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell, or equivalent.
• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting skills at all levels, from application to network to host.
• Operations experience working with CI/CD Pipelines and deployment systems like Terraform, Github Actions, Jenkins, or others.

Responsibilities

• Own the full engineering lifecycle of Route 53 DNS infrastructure.
• Design and implement DNS solutions with latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, and failover.
• Write production-quality automation code and build monitoring tooling.
• Mentor teammates and collaborate across teams to ensure reliability and interoperability.
