Job summary

Amazon Support Services Pty Ltd in Australia is seeking a Systems Engineer for the Route 53 DNS infrastructure within a sovereign cloud programme. You’ll own end-to-end engineering lifecycle from architecture to operations, delivering latency-based routing, private DNS, Geo DNS, and failover in a 50+ location global network.

You’ll write production quality code, build automation, monitor systems, and collaborate across teams to ensure reliability.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of networking protocols such as HTTP(S), DNS and TCP/IP.
• Experience with automation or scripting languages (Python, Java, Perl, PHP, Ruby, Bash, Shell).
• Experience in Linux OS and network troubleshooting.
• Experience troubleshooting across app, network and host levels.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment tools like Terraform, GitHub Actions, Jenkins.

Responsibilities

• Own the full engineering lifecycle of Route 53 DNS infrastructure within the programme.
• Design and implement DNS solutions including latency-based routing, Private DNS, Geo DNS, and failover.
• Write production-grade code and develop automation tooling to accelerate change propagation.
• Integrate Route 53 with broader AWS ecosystem and collaborate across teams.
• Lead incident response, runbooks, and post-incident analysis to improve reliability.
