Job summary

Randstad is recruiting three Library Customer Service Officers to join our client near St Kilda. These roles are 21 hours per week with competitive hourly rates and on-site duties.

You will deliver warm front-of-house service, assist library patrons with borrowing and searches, and support daily library operations. WWCC and a National Police Clearance are required or willing to obtain them.

Location: St Kilda (100% on-site)

Pay Rate: $48.85 - $52.18 per hour + superannuation
Tenure: ASAP start - until Jan 2027 with potential for 2 roles transitioning to a permanent ongoing position

Available Shifts & Roster Options

We are currently recruiting across three distinct roster options (each totaling 21 hours per week):

• Position 1: Monday (evening shift), Tuesday, Wednesday
• Position 2: Monday, Thursday (evening shift), Friday
• Position 3: Wednesday, Thursday (evening shift), Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, professional, front-of-house customer service to library visitors and community members.
• Assist patrons with borrowing, returns, catalog searches, and digital library resources.
• Resolve general inquiries, assist with printing/PC access, and maintain welcoming public spaces.
• Support library administration, circulation duties, and shelf maintenance.

Key Requirements

• Demonstrated experience in customer service, front-facing administration, or public-facing library environments.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a patient and approachable attitude.
• Proficiency with standard computers, library management systems (or quick adaptability to new software), and office equipment.
• Availability to work 100% on-site in St Kilda across your chosen shift schedule.
• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance.
