Job summary

Randstad is seeking Library Customer Service Officers for St Kilda, on-site, part-time across three 21-hour weeks. The role offers $48.85-$52.18 per hour plus superannuation, ASAP start to January 2027, with potential for two roles to transition to permanent ongoing positions.

You will deliver warm customer service, assist with borrowing and catalog searches, support printing/PC access, and help maintain welcoming public spaces. WWCC and National Police Clearance are required.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience in customer service or public-facing roles.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, patient and approachable.
• Proficiency with standard computers and library management systems; quick to learn new software.
• Availability to work 100% on-site in St Kilda across the chosen shift schedule.
• WWCC and willingness to obtain National Police Clearance.

Available Shifts & Roster Options

We are currently recruiting across three distinct roster options (each totaling 21 hours per week):

• Position 1: Monday (evening shift), Tuesday, Wednesday
• Position 2: Monday, Thursday (evening shift), Friday
• Position 3: Wednesday, Thursday (evening shift), Friday

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver warm, professional, front-of-house customer service to library visitors and community members.
• Assist patrons with borrowing, returns, catalog searches, and digital library resources.

• Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and willingness to undergo a National Police Clearance.
