Job summary

Summit Global Logistics in Sydney seeks a Customer Service Operator to join our sales team. You will handle order management, provide freight rate quotes, update client information, and liaise with internal teams to coordinate shipments of import orders.

The role requires at least five years in import freight operations, strong customer focus, excellent communication, and proficiency with CargoWise One. English and Chinese bilingual capabilities are a plus.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of import freight forwarding experience (Air and Sea preferred).
• Strong customer focus and ability to communicate effectively with customers (oral and written).
• Efficient and able to prioritise tasks.
• Strong team spirit and collaboration with colleagues.
• Hands-on proficiency with CargoWise One (essential for entering files, milestones, invoicing).
• Good communication with transport companies, shipping lines and airlines.

Customer Service - International Freight Forwarding

Summit Global Logistics is a long-standing and well-established International Freight Forwarding, Customs Brokerage, Transport and Warehousing and Logistics company with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, Shanghai & Guangzhou. We are proud of ourselves in providing the best possible service to our clientele and do all in our power to meet their needs.

We are currently seeking someone to join our sales team as a Customer Service Operator. This position is an integral part of our business and would ideally suit someone that has minimum five years’ experience in import freight operation.

Duties include:

• Order management - answering queries in relation to orders in progress;
• Sales support - providing freight rates and solutions to new customers;
• Client information update and relationship building;
• Internal liaison - working with other team members and colleagues in other departments of our company regarding shipment service of the assigned accounts.

Skills required:

• Minimum 2 years of experience handling international freight forwarding imports (both Air and Sea streams preferred).
• Superb customer focus and ability to communicate effectively through oral and written methods with customers;
• Great efficiency and prioritising skills;
• Strong team spirit;
• Bilingual skills (English and Chinese) will be an advantage.
• Hands-on proficiency with CargoWise One (essential for entering files, milestone tracking, and invoicing).
• Strong communication skills to confidently coordinate with local transport companies, shipping lines, and airlines.
