Job summary

Morson Edge Australia is seeking an experienced Import Airfreight Operator to join our Brisbane team. You will manage import shipments from arrival to final delivery, keep milestones on track and ensure customers receive the service they expect.

You will coordinate with airlines, co-loaders, transport providers and warehouses, process shipment data in CargoWise, check costs and GST, and help the Import Airfreight Manager with day-to-day operations and project cargo.

Qualifications

• Experience in import operations within freight forwarding.
• Understanding of import airfreight processes from arrival to delivery.
• Proficiency with CargoWise (CW1) is essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate import airfreight shipments from arrival through to final delivery.
• Manage daily import workflows ensuring alignment with customer requirements and procedures.
• Monitor shipment milestones, prioritise workloads, and maintain KPI timelines.
• Arrange transport from cargo terminals to final delivery with providers and warehouses.
• Liaise with airlines, co-loaders, transport companies, overseas agents and customers to resolve issues.
• Process shipment data and maintain accurate job files in CargoWise.
• Check freight charges, costings, GST and shipment weights/measurements.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and daily operations.
• Support the Import Airfreight Manager with general requirements and some project cargo.

An opportunity is available for an experienced Import Airfreight Operator to join an established global freight forwarding business in Brisbane. You'll be responsible for managing import shipments from arrival through to final delivery, keeping things moving, staying on top of milestones and making sure customers receive the service they expect.

What you'll be doing

• Coordinating import airfreight shipments from arrival through to final delivery.
• Managing daily import workflows, ensuring jobs are handled in line with customer requirements and established procedures.
• Monitoring shipment milestones, prioritising workloads and keeping deadlines and KPIs on track.
• Arranging transport from cargo terminals through to final delivery, coordinating with transport providers and warehouses.
• Liaising with airlines, co-loaders, transport companies, overseas agents and customers to resolve shipment issues.
• Processing shipment data and maintaining accurate job files in CargoWise.
• Checking freight charges, invoice costings, GST and shipment weights and measurements.
• Building strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and internal departments.
• Identifying opportunities to improve processes and day-to-day operations.
• Providing support to the Import Airfreight Manager with general operational requirements, as well as with some project cargo.

• Good understanding of the import airfreight process, from arrival through to delivery.
• CargoWise experience (CW1) is a must-have.

• Strong attention to detail, particularly when it comes to shipment data, costings and documentation.
