Job summary

The Department of Justice is seeking an Audio Visual Visits Officer to arrange video and phone visits at the Metropolitan Remand Centre in Melbourne. You will support the offender services team and help visits run safely and smoothly.

No formal qualifications are required; you should be proficient with Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and bring strong computer and communication skills, resilience and a team-focused approach.

Qualifications

• No formal qualifications are required for this role.
• You should be confident using Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• You will bring a calm approach, good communication skills and care for accurate work.
• Experience in a prison or correctional setting would be an advantage.

Responsibilities

• arrange timely bookings and help people connect with banks, State Trustees and other services
• keep attendance records, databases and spreadsheets accurate and up to date
• manage visit equipment and record when staff sign it in and out
• provide helpful, confidential admin support, including emails, faxes and other office tasks
• follow strict security and safety rules and help with other team duties as needed.
