Job summary

Castlemaine North Primary School in Castlemaine, Victoria, seeks a Leading Teacher to drive literacy and numeracy curriculum improvements and to lead staff in line with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model 2.0. The role includes coordinating professional development, coaching colleagues, and guiding data-informed teaching across the school.

The successful candidate will lead and collaborate on school priorities, coordinate curriculum development, and contribute to policy and practice

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the relevant curriculum and ability to lead literacy/numeracy development.
• Experience with the Victorian Teaching and Learning Model (VTLM) 2.0.
• Experience leading data-informed teaching improvements.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to coach colleagues and deliver professional learning.
• Commitment to Department values and ongoing improvement.

Responsibilities

• Lead whole-school improvement initiatives aligned with the school plan.
• Lead curriculum planning and delivery across areas.
• Lead professional development and develop staff development plans.
• Oversee staff performance and development reviews.
• Deliver demonstration lessons to model practice.
• Develop and oversee assessment and reporting policies and practices.
• Oversee student welfare and discipline policy implementation.
• Contribute to curriculum development and school leadership.
• Develop proposals for school council and code of conduct.
