Job summary

Mount Clear Primary School in Ballarat seeks a Learning Specialist to lead exemplary teaching and model best-practice in literacy and numeracy. The role focuses on improving student achievement and wellbeing through classroom delivery, demonstration lessons and mentoring.

The successful candidate will collaborate with the leadership team, drive whole-school improvement, and foster professional learning communities to uplift teaching practice and student outcomes city-wide.

Qualifications

• Expert knowledge of the curriculum and teaching practice.
• Ability to model high-impact teaching and literacy/numeracy across the curriculum.
• Ability to use data to inform teaching and provide feedback to students and parents.
• Develop and model school-wide improvement and professional learning.
• Demonstrated collaboration with staff, students and families.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrate high-level teaching expertise and provide demonstration lessons.
• Observe and give feedback to teachers to improve practice.
• Lead school improvement strategies in curriculum planning and delivery.
• Coordinate and deliver professional learning for staff through PLCs.
• Model and promote use of student data to inform teaching approaches.
• Mentor and coach teachers and supervise student teachers.
