The Star Sydney is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join its Commissary Kitchen. You will work closely with the Sous Chefs and Chef de Cuisine in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that prioritizes safety and high standards.

Ideal candidates have culinary school background and a Commercial Cookery Apprenticeship, with flexible availability to cover rotating shifts, including mornings, evenings, overnights, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Culinary School Graduate with apprenticeship training in commercial cookery.
• Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment.
• Strong communication and ability to work in high-volume environments.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Chef De Cuisine.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete duties in line with hygiene requirements.
