Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking a dedicated Commis Chef to join our kitchen team. You will support the Sous Chef, assist with cooking and food preparation, and help maintain strict hygiene standards in a fast-paced, high-quality dining environment.

Applicants must have a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and experience in fine or casual dining. Flexibility to work a rotating roster including mornings, evenings, weekends and public holidays is essential.

Responsibilities

• Support the assigned section as directed by the Sous Chef and provide training to junior staff members.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations
• Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements
• Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment
