The Star Sydney is hiring a Commis Chef to join a vibrant kitchen team under the guidance of the Sous Chef, delivering flawless product execution in a safety-focused environment. This role offers hands-on experience in an iconic entertainment and dining venue.

Candidates should have experience in fine or casual dining, familiarity with Asian and Western cuisines, and a Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.

Qualifications

• Experience in fine dining or casual dining settings.
• Experience with Asian & Western cuisines.
• Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or higher.
• Flexibility to rotate shifts including weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Support the assigned section as directed by the Sous Chef and provide training to junior staff members.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements.
• Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.
