Job summary

The Star Sydney is seeking a passionate Commis Chef to join the Commissary Kitchen. You will support or lead the assigned section, assist with cooking and food preparation, and uphold high hygiene standards in a fast-paced environment.

Ideal candidates are Culinary School graduates with an apprenticeship in commercial cookery, flexible to work mornings, evenings, overnights, weekends and public holidays, and eager to contribute to a high-quality dining experience across The Star Sydney venues.

Qualifications

• Culinary School Graduate.
• Received apprenticeship training in commercial cookery.
• Proficiency with diverse food preparation techniques and cooking equipment.

Responsibilities

• Support or lead the assigned section as directed by the Chef De Cuisine and provide training to junior staff members.
• Assist with fundamental cooking and food preparation tasks.
• Maintain cleanliness of kitchen equipment and workstations.
• Complete all duties in line with company and statutory hygiene requirements.
• Meet requirements for consistency and high quality in a fast-paced environment.
