Job summary

Corrective Services NSW is seeking a Teacher to deliver Language Literacy Numeracy and Digital Literacy within the AEVTI program across NSW correctional centres. You’ll plan, develop, and assess courses aligned with accredited packages to support safer communities and reduce re-offending.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Education or equivalent, a current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment, and a NSW driver’s licence with willingness to travel to multiple centres within the North,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Education from a recognised university; incorporating subjects studied which qualifies the employee to teach in the learning area required by AEVTI
• Graduate Diploma (or higher) in Education with a discipline other than education; qualifying to teach in the learning area required by AEVTI
• Current NSW driver’s licence and willingness to travel to various centres within preferred region as part of the role
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122 or its successor)

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain LLND classes using the Offender Information Management System (OIMS).
• Enrol learners into appropriate education programs following established processes.
• Plan, deliver and evaluate courses to meet accredited requirements and support reduced re-offending and safer communities.
• Provide learner progress reports and contribute to offender education pathways.

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Education

Graduate Diploma in Education (or higher) with another discipline

Current Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40110/TAE40116/TAE40122)
