Job summary

Cloncurry Shire Council is seeking an organised, community-focused Community Venues Coordinator to join our Community and Cultural Services team. You will coordinate operating and hiring of venues, deliver customer service, and manage bookings from enquiry to post-event follow-up.

You will engage with residents, businesses and groups, coordinating setup, safety, inventories and financial records while improving processes and ensuring reliable venue operations.

Qualifications

• Experience in venue coordination or events.
• Strong organisational skills to manage multiple bookings.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement.
• Ability to work occasional extra hours as required.

Responsibilities

• Manage venue bookings, hire docs, fees, bonds, access arrangements and handovers.
• Build productive relationships with community groups, businesses and event organisers.
• Coordinate venue setup, pack-down and cleaning with hirers and Council teams.
• Undertake venue inspections and coordinate maintenance and safety follow-ups.
• Maintain equipment inventories and stocktakes, coordinate hire, repairs and replacements.
• Keep booking and financial records, monitor venue use and provide operational reports.
• Improve booking processes and customer service for efficient operations.
• Occasionally work outside standard business hours.
