Job summary

Moree Plains Shire Council is recruiting for a Casual Event and Function Support Assistant. You will assist with the coordination and activation of community venues, handling day-to-day operations, logistics, setup and pack-down to deliver professional and safe event experiences that engage the community.

The role requires initiative, strong communication, and the ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated interest or basic experience in events, functions, hospitality, or community initiatives.
• Good organisational and time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines and schedules.
• Experience or interest in event bump-in, pack-down, hospitality, or community functions with initiative and communication.
• Sound physical fitness to handle manual tasks and safety protocols.
• Availability to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Assist with day-to-day venue operations and activation of community venues.
• Coordinate and activate community venues and events, including logistics, setup and pack-down.
• Provide courteous customer service to venue hirers, performers, contractors and the public.
• Assist with opening, securing and closing Council venues.
• Ensure adherence to risk management and work health and safety requirements.
